Bernd Vogl studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business with a focus on environmental economics. 

From 2011 to the end of 2022, Bernd Vogl headed the energy planning department of the City of Vienna. In this role, he coordinated the work on the “Vienna Climate Roadmap” and developed the “Vienna Heat and Cooling 2040” strategy. He has been managing director of the Climate and Energy Fund since January 2023.
