The now listed building was planned by the Viennese architect Rudolf Frey in 1877 and completed in 1881 as Vienna's first wrought iron construction on behalf of the municipal council of the royal imperial capital and residence city of Vienna. Once built as Vienna's central cattle market, the historic building developed into a vibrant center of the new Neu Marx district, which has established itself as a new hotspot in the event scene.
