Former professor and head of the Institute of Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology.
Hermann Knoflacher studied civil engineering, mathematics, and geodesy, gaining experience in structural and civil engineering. From 1974 to 2008, he was a professor and head of the Institute of Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering at TU Vienna. He also founded an engineering office and the Institute for Transportation Studies. Additionally, he serves as an advisor to ministers, the EU Commission, and international organizations, and is the founder of the Austrian Transport Club (VCÖ). In addition, he has published over 600 scientific papers and several specialized books.
