Chief Technology Officer at Windkraft Simonsfeld AG
Markus Winter is the Chief Technical Officer of Windkraft Simonsfeld and has been an important player and expert in the Austrian energy landscape for over 20 years. Among other things, he is responsible for the entire technical area, project development in Austria and abroad and energy management. Winter is also part of the board team at IG Windkraft and a member of CEOs for future.
Windkraft Simonsfeld, based in Ernstbrunn (Lower Austria), operates and develops wind and solar power plants in Austria and Europe. With 91 wind turbines in Austria, two in Bulgaria and a solar power plant in Slovakia, the company produces the annual electricity requirements of around 170,000 households. The company employs around 125 people. With more than 2,500 shareholders, Windkraft Simonsfeld is one of the largest citizen-owned companies in Austria.
The presentation will focus on the use of wind energy as a sustainable energy source. It will also address the benefits of wind energy, such as its ability to provide continuous energy and contribute as a reliable source of renewable energy. However, in addition to the benefits, the challenges and environmental impacts will also be addressed.
