Climate-conscious energy

Energy for a sustainable future

Ensuring a sustainable energy supply is crucial for the future of our planet and the well-being of future generations. Energy efficiency plays an important role in minimizing energy consumption and conserving resources.

The importance of a climate-conscious energy supply cannot be overemphasized. Climate change, caused mainly by the excessive consumption of fossil fuels, presents us with enormous challenges. But we cannot wait for the breakthrough of the American research team that wants to solve all our energy problems with nuclear fusion.

By switching to renewable energy and increasing energy efficiency, we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and have a positive impact on the climate. By being conscious about our energy consumption, using renewable energy sources and supporting energy transition initiatives, we can actively contribute to reducing our environmental impact and creating a sustainable future.

How can we generate energy in a more climate-conscious way?

The challenges of climate change require joint action from governments, businesses and individuals.

Investing in renewable energies is not only good for the environment, but also economical in the long term. They reduce dependence on expensive and limited fossil fuels and can lead to cost savings in the long term.

As consumers, we have an important role to play in promoting a climate-conscious energy supply. We can no longer do without photovoltaics, and new, smart solutions are being developed here too: solar power from the balcony directly into the socket is one of the many examples. It is possible to turn the battery of an electric car into a flexible storage unit. The better we manage self-generated electricity, the smaller our CO2 footprint will be.

This is exactly why we need new ideas. Let's think of hydropower as an increasingly important form of renewable energy that uses the kinetic energy of water to generate environmentally friendly electricity.

Don'ts

Underestimate solar energy
Solar panels are not only suitable for large houses. They can also make a valuable contribution on smaller roofs or even balconies.

Turn the heating up to full
You should avoid leaving the heating on full blast. This will not warm the rooms any faster, but there is a risk of unnecessarily high room temperatures.

Outdated heating systems
Heating systems that run on gas and electricity can be unsustainable, depending on the type of energy generation and technology. When gas and electricity are generated from fossil fuels such as coal and oil, heating the building can make a significant contribution to global warming. It not only produces greenhouse gases, but also causes air pollution and has a negative impact on health.

Dos

Optimize the heating system
A modern heating system or the use of heat pumps reduces energy consumption and promotes the use of renewable energies.

Use renewable energies
The use of renewable energy sources reduces Co2 emissions.

Obtain climate-neutral energy
Preference should be given to electricity providers that offer exclusively or largely climate-neutral energy. By switching to such a provider, you can help to reduce Co2 Emissions and thus improve air quality.

Consciously reduce energy consumption
Reduce energy consumption through simple measures such as switching off lights in unused rooms or consciously heating and cooling.

Save energy when showering
With a low-pressure shower head, hot water consumption in the shower can be significantly reduced, saving more than half the energy.
